Because of this, manufacturers would market their products in a very nice way. They would wrap the chocolates and cookies in very attractive packaging. People would buy and even give these goodies as gifts. Because of this these manufacturers earn a lot during this season. In fact, numbers show that sales are at its peak during this time as people enjoy giving and receiving goodies during the holidays.
Eat and Drink Freely during the Holidays
People just tend to forget about their diet during this season. Parties are done left and right. Then with the appealing food and drinks right in front of them it’s just impossible to resist. Of course, eating and drinking some is a part of the fun during get-togethers and parties.
Gingerbread as a Favorite
One of the most favorite treat during the holiday is the gingerbread. This cookie is said to have been brought to the US by the Germans. It even became more popular when it was included in the story of Hansel and Gretel. It is portrayed quite attractively as it is filled with icing as well as decorations.
The beginning of the gingerbread making started in the US in Lancaster County. There was a house owned by German immigrants. The gingerbread seen then was a foot high though. There would be rows of hard candy bows and buttons to complete the look. People who saw the decoration and followed the idea when they got home, thus giving their homes a unique décor then .
