5 of the best tips I have read for a better color brochure design

Article:
Want better designs for brochure printing? There is no need for special education to develop better layouts and graphics that is fit for brochure printing. All you need are a few great ideas and tips. Let me give you 5 of the best tips I have read for a better color brochure design. Hopefully they will help you in your endeavor to create the best and most effective commercial brochures.

1. Make those brochures bleed. One of the simplest suggestions I can give you is to add a printing bleed into your color brochure draft. Bleeds are those extra spaces in a design's dimensions that allow some leeway for printing. With this bleed on your brochure draft dimensions, the cutting and folding of the brochures can look more accurate since the cutting and folding machines have some leeway in doing their jobs. This means that your designs would not look bad or even cheap. They will look quite well with no apparent cutting errors.

2. Be cruel with your images. It is also a fact that you will need to be cruel when picking images for brochure printing. Since space is at a premium when printing brochures, those images should be quite precise for its use in your brochures. Moreover, you must inspect each brochure image and see if it is high quality. Without high quality brochure images, those materials will look old and fuzzy leading to bad designs. So be picky and be cruel. Only use images that look the best.

3. Always think outside the box. Your attitude in designing should also be noted. If you want better and more original designs you should always think out of the box. The rules for traditional brochure printing must be bent and you should go for more creative options when possible. In most cases brochures designed like this are noticed and can be quite quickly remembered. So see what you can change and go out of the box in terms of design.

4. Less is always more. You may also want to adopt a “less is more” strategy in terms of your content. It might be tempting to put in all those 20 paragraphs of text in your brochure so that people will indeed get the story of your brochures, however you should always cut that down. The attention span of brochure readers actually shortens as the brochure content gets longer and more numerous. That is why less text means more people getting encouraged to finish reading the brochure. So always write your text as concisely as possible so that it will only use the most minimal of spaces as possible.

5. Cleaner is better. Finally, in all my years of brochure printing, one of the best things I have learned is that a cleaner looking a brochure is usually the better one. Other brochures might have unique often intricate designs. However, those do not necessarily make for a great design. Often it is better to use cleaner more spacious designs for the brochure so that people can understand them faster and better. That is why you should make it a point to use as little extra details as possible when designing color brochure. Believe me, they will turn out better.

So follow these tips for better and more memorable brochure printing designs!
