typography tips that should give you the best text styles you want for your poster printing

Article:
Fancy creating great words or text in your print posters? Well, to get the best text in your color posters, you will need to know the perfect styles and effects that go great with poster printing. If you want to know what those perfect styles are, then you have come to the right place. I have here four nice typography tips that should give you the best text styles you want for your poster printing.

1. Contrast your text colors.

It is always important to contrast your colors for poster printing. To really make your text come out, your text colors must have the opposite hue or lighting. So dark backgrounds must always have lighter text, and light backgrounds need darker text. In terms of colors, you should try contrasting a certain color with their opposite counterpart in the color wheel. This is their complimentary color. As long as the text is opposite to its background in terms of lightness and color, it should be well emphasized.

2. Use color strokes.

It is also useful to use color strokes. This is basically a kind of color border around each letter of your text. This is especially useful when you want the text to come out better in a certain background or if you want to add extra emphasis to the text. This can easily be added to most color poster designs by looking at the blending options for that certain layer of text.

3. Add shadows.

Shadow effects are another classic for poster printing. Adding shadows to typography basically lifts the letters up, making them pop up in the readers eyes. You can use this to great effect especially on titles, sub headers and certain key words like names, places and significant objects. In some software applications you can set the color and spread of the shadow to really customize it to your color theme.

4. Minimize font styles.

Now, here is an important tip. In creating color posters, you must minimize your font styles. Do not use too many different styles in one poster. This makes for a cluttered and incoherent look. It is best to only use one to two font styles so that the whole poster looks better and more coherent. Your themes will appear far more understandable and will look much better when you do this.

5. Use sizes and typefaces for variety.

Finally, to add a little character to your text, you should not forget to use different font sizes and typefaces. Using different sizes for headers, sub headers and regular text can mean a lot in leading the readers’ eyes. Placing bold, italic or underline effects also help in adding emphasis or extra information to your typography so that the key words are understood first. Keep this in mind as you insert your text in your color posters.

Great! I hope this helps a lot in your typography for poster printing. Remember the tips above well.
